19. MODEL
500-“DIGITAL SOLUTIONS” (3/3) (Digital
Solutions is a culmination of a 35-year relationship with music production for
the mastermind behind Model 500, techno pioneer Juan Atkins. Marking the 30th
anniversary of Metroplex in a genre that has taken over on a global scale,
Digital Solutions is only the second full length album ever to be released on
the seminal cornerstone of dance music. Definitive Detroit is what the world
has come to expect from Atkins, and this selection of tracks delivers just
that. Exploring both electro and straight four on the floor, Digital Solutions
gives a glimpse into what will be deemed a blueprint for the next 30 years.
Model 500 and Metroplex welcome you to the future with Digital Solutions.)
20. MOMUS-“TERPSYCORE”
(3/3)
21. MOON DUO-“SHADOW OF THE SUN”
(3/3) (Moon Duo began work on
their latest album during a period in which they faced a curious new reality.
Freed from deadlines and expectations, and suddenly off the road for a stretch,
the duo found themselves each experiencing strange shifts in their perceptions
of reality. Shadow of the Sun is the result of a few months of Moon Duo
wrangling with a new and unsettling way of being. Working both in a dark
basement in Portland, and above ground in sunny San Francisco, these new sounds
and songs veered dramatically from groove to groove, revealing sonic textures
the duo had not previously explored.)
22. OF
MONTRAL-“AUREATE GLOOM” (3/3) (“A
golden despondency” is how Kevin Barnes translates the meaning behind Aureate
Gloom, the title he gave of Montreal’s thirteenth full-length album. The
oxymoron is one Barnes says best describes the overall state of his life and
mental outlook while working on the record — penning lyrics so personal they
sound like entries ripped from a journal that should be permanently kept under
lock and key.)

LOSE YOU” (3/3) (Swervedriver are back
with their first new album in 18 years! I Wasn't Born To Lose You is the
classic Swervedriver sound - the liquid distortion of shoegaze combined with
the swagger of Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr. It was recorded at legendary
studios Konk in London and Birdland in Melbourne. The band begins a 22 date
U.S. tour in March, including their debut SXSW appearance.)
28. CARTER
TUTTI-“CARTER TUTTI PLAYS CHRIS & COSEY” (3/3)

30. VESSELS-“DILATE”
(3/3)
31. STEVEN
WILSON-“HAND. CANNOT. ERASE.” (3/3) ((The fourth solo album
from prolific songwriter, Porcupine Tree member, multi-instrumentalist and
producer, Steven Wilson. Hand. Cannot Erase. is a dynamic 11-song conceptual
set, bringing together diverse aspects of his expansive sonic history. Recorded
in September 2014 at AIR Studios London, Hand. Cannot. Erase. features the
guitar-driven power, infectious melodies, and progressive sensibility of Wilson
s sprawling body of work. Wilson describes the collection as inspired by a news
story, of a woman who died in her apartment and went undiscovered for three
years. The basic concept of the record it's about a woman growing up, who goes
to live in the city, very isolated, and she disappears one day and no one
notices. Now, your initial reaction when you hear a story like that is, 'Ah,
little old bag lady that no one notices; no one cares about.' But she was
young; she was popular; she was attractive; she had many friends; she had
family, but for whatever reason, nobody missed her for three years.; The
dramatic theme of Hand. Cannot. Erase. is punctuated with moments of rhythmic
urgency, somber introspection, and soaring beauty.
