2.    APHEX TWIN-“COMPUTER CONTROLLED ACOUSTIC INSTRUMENTS PT. 2” (1/23)
3.    THE ARCHANGEL-“BEDROOM SLANT” (1/20) (Bruno Pronsato, one of electronic music's most vital and innovative producers, presents The Bedroom Slant, the first full-length release under his new Archangel moniker. This new chapter follows "Since We Last Met" (2010), his shimmering and haunting collaboration as ndf with Sergio Giorgini of Benoit & Sergio, which Pitchfork and Resident Advisor hailed and DFA chose to close its 2010 Compilation; and Lovers Do (SONG 006CD, 2011), Pronsato's third album, which Resident Advisor rated at 4.5 out of 5 and Pitchfork rated at 8.1, lauding the work as "a striking and massive statement." Pronsato has also released on Perlon as Half Hawaii, his collaboration with Sammy Dee; on Telegraph as Public Lover, his collaboration with Ninca Leece; and on Hello? Repeat as Others, his collaboration with Daze Maxim. Archangel is a significant new chapter in the evolution of Pronsato's signature electronic sound. The human voice acts as one of its major elements, as Pronsato steps up to the mic to take on vocal duties, and it incorporates traditional instrumentation to a larger degree than his previous work, with his brother David Ford's bass guitar lines forming the rhythmic foundation for many of the new songs. Acknowledging his long-held love, fostered by radio, of pop, rock, and post-punk in his music for the first time, Pronsato filters his experimentalism through his formative romance with the airwaves. Pronsato is known for creating remarkably fresh and strange music from his influences, unrecognizable when compared to its inspiration. He wrote, produced, recorded, and mixed The Bedroom Slant during early morning sessions in the Prenzlauer Berg studio he shares with Benoit & Sergio. The album features collaborations with downtown scene multi-instrumentalist Peter Gordon (Love of Life Orchestra), Randy Jones aka Caro (co-founder of Orac Records), bassist Yonatan Levi (The Jimmy Cobb Quartet), and Chicago-based composer and pianist David A. Powers. Artwork by UK-based artist Marilyn Thompson. Mastered by Mike Grinser at Manmade Mastering, Berlin.)

5.    RYAN BINGHAM-“FEAR AND SATURDAY NIGHT” (1/20)
6.    BJORK-“VULNICURA” (1/20)
7.    BOXED IN-“BOXED IN” (1/20)
8.    ALEX CALDER-“STRANGE DREAMS” (1/20)
9.    BC CAMPLIGHT-“HOW TO DIE IN THE NORTH” (1/20)
10. THE DECEMBERISTS-“WHAT A TERRIBLE WORLD, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WORLD” (1/20)
11. DISAPPEARS-“IRREAL” (1/20)
12. ERASE ERRATA-“LOST WEEKEND” (1/20) ("Recorded in the summer of 2012 in the sleepy midwest town of Iowa City, Erase Errata regrouped to record their fourth full-length release "Lost Weekend". After a day of improvising in the studio, the band selected seven pieces to flesh out for posterity. Sure to please their heavily established psych rock fan base.")
13. JAD FAIR & NORMAN BLAKE-“YES” (1/21)
14. GHOST CULTURE-“GHOST CULTURE” (1/20)
15. KING CRIMSON-“LIVE AT THE ORPHEUM THEATER LOS ANGELES 2014” (1/20)
16. MARILYN MANSON-“THE PALE EMPEROR” (1/20)
17. JACK NAME-“WEIRD MOONS” (1/20) (2015 release, the sophomore full-length from the Los Angeles-based solo artist and White Fence collaborator. Jack Name's genius is the listener can never anticipate his next direction. A change of trajectory is as likely a return to the beginning as it is a sharp upwards spike that pulls one deeper into one's seat and threatens unconsciousness. Nothing here is concrete or predictable. Songs float, attract, repel, and rebound off each other like pitch black matter. A wonderful follow-up to 2014's masterpiece LIGHT SHOW, WEIRD MOONS was recorded in a room with mirrored walls, moth-eaten shades pulled low to block the sun's brutal radiation and the howls of the urchins 60 stories below. Less a sequel to the tales spun in the first, and more a rocket that has jettisoned its initial thruster to be driven further away from this mortal orb and deeper into this sticky story. Reminiscent of late-era Can, Bruce Haack, Hans Edler, Solid Space, Dario Argento and VHS tapes. Listen to this album in an egg-shaped speaker chair, if possible.)
18. NIGHT TERRORS OF 1927-“EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSES” (1/20)
19. THE NOTWIST-“MESSIER OBJECTS” (1/23) (When The Notwist returned with their acclaimed seventh studio album Close to the Glass in early 2014, many were enchanted by the epic instrumental track "Lineri." It was the only instrumental track featured on that album, but according to Markus Acher, the band's vocalist, instrumental works had an important role in the album. Indeed, while the band's members pursued solo projects between 2008's The Devil, You + Me and 2014's Close to the Glass, The Notwist also composed instrumental works for several theater productions and radio plays, some of which are compiled here as The Messier Objects. The collection obviously brings to mind the ghosts of library music and '70s soundtracks, but can also be heard as a summary of the band's ever-evolving musical cosmos. The 17 featured pieces range from sample-based electronic collages to the buoyant post-rock of "Das Spiel ist aus." Whether the band is experimenting with modular synthesizers, analog percussion, or even horn sections ("Object 11"), there remains a constant flow of gentle grooves that makes this open-minded collection more than just a companion piece to Close to the Glass.)
20. CHRIS POTTER / UNDERGROUND ORCHESTRA-“IMAGINARY CITIES” (1/20)
21. RED AUNTS-“COME UP FOR A CLOSER LOOK” [2-CD COLLECTION] (1/20) ("The Red Aunts were an all-female punk band that formed in 1991 in Long Beach, California. Their brand of unfiltered music is toxic, taking a sharp claw to every riot grrrl cliché it can shred. "Come Up for a Closer Look" is their “Greatest Hits” compilation, a gatefold-sleeve double-album complete with killer art and photos, plus liner notes by Red Aunts fan Sasha Frere-Jones.")
22. SISKIYOU-“NERVOUS” (1/20) (Siskiyou returns with Nervous, a majestic album of carefully constructed art rock built around songwriter and lead singer Colin Huebert's stacked acoustic guitars and intimate, whispery vocals. Siskiyou's sound has been previously dubbed a sort of 'Northern Gothic', conjuring cold winds and the life-saving warmth of temporary shelters and tiny hearth fires. With Nervous, the band continues to push beyond the crisp lo-fi intimacy of its early work, and has forged its most confident and finely-crafted recording to date.)
23. SLEATER-KINNEY-“NO CITIES TO LOVE” (1/20)
24. VIET CONG-“VIET CONG” (1/20)

11. NATALIE PRASS-“NATALIE PRASS” (1/27)
12. JESSICA PRATT-“ON YOUR OWN LOVE AGAIN” (1/27) (JESSICA PRATT's self-titled 2012 debut has been much-murmured about in the time between yesterday and today. People respond to the austere, pristine clarity of the performances, the gentle strength, marveling at how much comes from so little: just a voice and a guitar or two! They remark on the timeless nature of the songs and the voice, scrupulously informed by the folk-rock of ages past, but sung without bags. Two years on, and Jessica's very new On Your Own Love Again is here for us, playing her further adventures in different pastures. The album was recorded entirely by Jessica in the fashion of "Night Faces" and "Dreams," from her first album, and mixed in collaboration with WILL CANZONERI. Touched lightly with additional instrumental and vocal parts, the songs ripple beneath the surface with lyrical details that morph almost subliminally from the personal into fantasy. When Jessica's playful nature bubbles up, she sends her voice traveling into strange places to see what it finds there. The music too is deceptively accomplished, providing subtle hallucinatory nuances to the tunes. Perhaps most significantly, On Your Own Love Again was recorded at home over the past two years. This process sands the surface of her more active multi-tracking approach, allowing a sound as delicate and singular as her former recordings. On Your Own Love Again Jessica is fully alive in a space all her own; with isolation in the breeze, the sound resonant in the natural light and a gauze of clouds in the sky, under which she can relax, unwind and let herself be.)
